Anyone looking for homemade simplified sambal chilli recipe? Get this easy recipe and get it started.…add a little lime juice with this sambal chilli and it goes very well with cockles, fish, chicken wings, fish balls, nasi lemak….you name it.

Ingredients

500g garlic (cut)
500g onion (cut)
15g balacan
1200g chilli paste (Lada Kisar brand)
150g chilli padi (pound the chilli padi)
1 cup sugar
3 cups of oil

Instructions

1. Blend well the garlic and onion.
2. Pound the chilli padi.
3. Heat up the oil. Stir fry the pounded chilli padi.
4. Add in chilli paste and stir fry for a while.
5. Add in balacan. Stir well and make sure that it melts.
6. Add in blended onion and garlic. Lower the flame and keep stirring. Otherwise, it will stick to the wok. Keep frying till the color change to brown. Approximate: 1 hour
7. Add sugar gradually and stir it well.
8. Continue to stir for another 15 mins.
9. Leave it to cool.
